P450 CYP1A Induction Kit - Ready to Use
ACTIVTox responds accurately to CYP1A inducers
The ACTIVTox CYP1A assay is based on CYP1A, a member of the p450 enzymes in the liver. This enzyme can be induced by a variety of agents such as cigarette smoke, omeprazole, methylcholanthrene, and TCDD; it is inhibited by furafylline. One of the CYP1A substrates is ethoxyresorufin (ERes) and in the presence of CYP1A ERes is converted to the fluorescent compound, resorufin. The ACTIVTox CYP1A kit relies on this specific reaction to make ERes an excellent probe for CYP1A activity in the system.
